As I am sitting by the fire in my home trying to warm my bones, a cold chill cuts through the air. I wonder why we are here? Tending the flames I stop and stare. We came from where out there? Will I be remembered now or then? Remembered where or when?
Night is falling across the sky as I hear a faint reply. I have to wonder why people cry while others sit back and abide.
It seems like such a simple fix. We do our part but nothing comes that quickly. Everything around us is what it is meant to be.
All the pain and all the gain, all the fame and all the shame. Balance is the name of the game. Energies aligned so we can soar in our brain.
Night is falling across the sky as I hear a faint reply. I have to wonder why people cry while others sit back and abide.

Frostbite

As I am opening up the window curtain and see frost biting the glass, my mind is taken to all the snow days from winters past. Playing outside with my friends— we’re making snowmen in the grass. There’s not a care in the world, looking for ways to laugh (laugh).
Take me back to the good old days when I used to laugh and play, and had no worries.
There was a much wiser man than I who gave me this old faithful line one night, and with his infinite wisdom he just gave me one bite: he spoke to me and he cried “why do we work until we die?”. There’s got to be so much more than strife in this short life (life).

There is somebody trying to speak to me. A distant voice heard, but goes unseen. I entertain the possibility of something, somewhere out upon the sea.
We sail forth day after day with the wind beneath our wings, carried by the hopes of meeting that which calls to us frequently.
It’s in the air. That familiar call we share. I want to stop and stare, but it’s not there. I must take care to heed those messages so loudly in my ear.
It’s clear. I will not fear the messages I hear.
They’re near. I fear they will be made unclear to those who stand tall until empires fall. Deconstruct these walls and bring forth this loud call.
